How to block Ads on Twitch using a VPN
Using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) is another good option for blocking Ads on Twitch. The VPN allows you to change your IP Address to make Twitch think you are in a different country.
The idea of using a VPN is to change your IP Address to a country that has little to no Ads being served by Twitch.
Non-English speaking countries appear to work best for this, however, it’s always best to test out different countries to see what’s working.
One advantage to using a VPN is that you can also use it for other platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, this would allow you to watch material only available in a different country.
There is one drawback to using a VPN, which is that it can slow down your internet speed and in some cases make the video buffer, so again it’s best you test these to see what works best for you.
We have done some testing and found that the following countries appear to have very little to no Ads being served.
- Russia
- Israel
- Ukraine
- Other non-English speaking countries
There are a few different VPN services that we have tested that provide decent speeds and a good selection of countries.
Although there are some free VPN services available, we have found none of those worked reliably, so the only real option would be to pay for a premium VPN.
VPN | Price | Countries | Compatibility |
---|---|---|---|
Windscribe | $9 / month | 63+ countries | Windows, Mac, Android, IOS, Linux & more. |
NordVPN | $11 / month | 60+ countries | Windows, Mac, Android, IOS, Linux & more. |
ExpressVPN | $12.95 / month | 94 countries | Windows, Mac, Android, IOS, Linux & more. |
Conclusion
Using a combination of the outlined methods is the best way to block Ads on Twitch.
