Dr Disrespect recently played Apex Legends and in a recent stream, he expressed his opinion that the game is the most challenging FPS on the market. Dr Disrespect is a respected FPS player who has reached impressive heights in various franchises and formerly worked as a map designer for Sledgehammer Games in the Advanced Warfare era of the Call of Duty franchise. He is also developing his own game, Deadrop.
During the stream, Dr Disrespect was four hours into a Ranked session when he decided to end his gameplay for the day. He found himself in an unwinnable 1v3 situation and tried his best to grab his teammates’ banners and get out of the way, but the opposing squad found him and finished him off. Dr Disrespect was visibly disappointed in his own performance and expressed his frustration to his chat. “I’m so clumsy in this game… y’all see how clumsy I am?” he said.
After saying goodbye to ZLaner and Niko1F, Dr Disrespect told his chat that he needed a break from Apex and wanted to try something new. A chatter sympathized with him, calling the battle royale title the most challenging FPS, and Dr Disrespect agreed wholeheartedly. He explained that it wasn’t just about the aim but also about the fluidity of movement, hip-firing, strafe tapping, and slipping and sliding. These skills require a high level of separation of players, which makes Apex Legends the most difficult FPS on the market.
Dr Disrespect’s observation is not new to many in the FPS space. Respawn Entertainment has always been proud of the strength of Apex Legends’ movement capabilities, and Dr Disrespect may have finally met a game that pushes him to the limits of his skill.
