Following the temporary ban of Twitch star Nadia ‘Nadia’ Amine for “sharing personal information,” fellow streamer Asmongold openly shared his sentiments, suggesting that she should have been permanently banned instead.
On December 14th, Nadia faced a temporary suspension on Twitch due to the numerous allegations of cheating in Call Of Duty that has been hurled her way. However, her Twitter post indicated that she was penalized with a 14-day ban for ‘sharing personal information’.
But the reprieve came quickly, and Nadia was swiftly unbanned after only 6 hours – not even having to serve out one full day of her sentence.
She was banned from streaming after publicly exposing a donor’s full name – an act that many considered doxxing. Revealing someone’s personal information can leave them susceptible to various hazards posed by viewers, which is why it is so essential to maintain their privacy and anonymity at all times.
In the video, she states “usually people will donate a dollar to me and hate. Daddyslayer, I know you use your name as Daddyslayer, and you said ‘enjoy using cheats,’ but you don’t know that when you donate money to me on PayPal, it actually gives me your full name.”
She then discloses his complete name on Twitch a few times and finishes off by declaring, “whatever reason, you find time to actually do something in your f**king life. Because now you look like a f**king idiot.”
Twitch’s leading stars have been fervently debating the ban put into place. Asmongold is firm in his stance that the streamer should have faced permanent consequences for her behaviour. “I watched the clip, she intentionally doxxed him,” he stated.
“Should be a permaban without even a question, Amazing that Twitch is struggling with this.”
Following Asmongold’s sentiment, his avid Twitch community was determined to take things up a notch. He urged them to report Nadia’s channel in an effort to get her banned from the platform once more. “I think everyone should report her channel, and she should get banned perma, for sure. At least for a few months.”
Twitch has a strict policy against doxxing in their official guidelines, emphasizing that this kind of behavior is prohibited regardless if the perpetrators only reveal public information. This means no matter what type or degree of data you are looking to expose about another person, it is strictly forbidden on Twitch.
“If your personally identifiable information (PII) is released on Twitch without your consent, you can file a report and we will investigate and enforce against the doxxer if appropriate.”
